<p>At the end of 2020, I received incredible news: <a href="https://iowareview.org">THE IOWA REVIEW</a> had nominated my short story &#8220;Birds of New Mexico&#8221; for a Pushcart Prize! I was already elated that my story was even going to be published in this magazine, so to find out that, on top of selecting it for publication, the editors liked it enough to nominate it for the Pushcart&#8230;well, I was grinning for a few days solid!
