WINCHESTER/WINCHESTER Virtual Premiere

It’s that time again: The Vagrancy’s annual new play festival, Blossoming, is about to start! We will once again be keeping our artists and audiences safe by holding the festival virtually, meaning that you can check out any of this year’s plays from anywhere in the world.

My newest play, WINCHESTER/WINCHESTER, tells the stories of two pairs of teenage sisters living in sister cities a thousand years apart. Juxtaposing the slacker vibe of the 1990s with Old English-inspired speech patterns, the play explores the ways in which young women attempt to find their places in the world–and the ways in which the world does not make space for young women.

Directed by Jessie Lee Mills. Featuring Amanda MacDonald, Kara MacDonald, Cassidy Davis, Schuyler Girion, and Maggie Dorfman, with dialect coaching by Meagan Prahl.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite. The reading will be released at 5 PM Pacific on Tuesday, June 1st, and will be followed by a live-streamed Q&A on The Vagrancy’s YouTube channel at 7:30 PM Pacific. However, if you happen to be busy on the night of June 1st, there’s no need to worry–the reading will be available to view for a week!
